Privacy Policy

Garage is a web application for keeping vehicle information, maintenance records, insurance dates, inspections and related reminders in one place. This policy explains how we handle personal data.

2. Information we process

• Google Sign-In information: Google account identifier, name, email address and profile photo, if provided by Google.
• Garage records: vehicle details, registration numbers, VINs, tyre information, maintenance history, inspection dates, insurance information, expenses, notes and any photos or documents you upload.
• Technical data: session cookies, IP addresses, request logs and diagnostic information necessary to operate and protect the service, depending on server configuration.

We do not receive or store your Google password. We do not request access to your Gmail, contacts or Google Drive for basic sign-in.

3. Purposes and legal bases

• Creating your account, signing you in and storing your vehicle records: performance of our agreement to provide Garage (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
• Maintaining security, preventing abuse and diagnosing failures: our legitimate interests in running a safe service (Article 6(1)(f)).
• Meeting applicable legal obligations: Article 6(1)(c), where relevant.

If reminders are enabled, we use the dates and records you provide to calculate and display them. We do not sell your personal data or use it for targeted advertising.

4. Google Sign-In

Google authenticates your identity and supplies limited account information to Garage. Google separately processes information under its own privacy policy. Disconnecting Garage in your Google account does not by itself delete your Garage records.

5. Hosting and recipients

Garage's primary application and database are hosted by Hetzner in Nuremberg, Germany, within the European Union. Information is processed by Google for sign-in and Hetzner for hosting infrastructure. We do not currently use separate email delivery, analytics, monitoring or external backup service providers. Automatic database backups are created daily. We disclose information if required by applicable law.

6. International transfers

Some providers, including Google, may process information outside the European Economic Area. Where GDPR transfer rules apply, we rely on an applicable adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards. The details of any international processing and applicable transfer safeguards will be reviewed as our service arrangements evolve.

7. Retention and deletion

We retain your account and vehicle records while your account remains active, unless a longer period is legally required. You can initiate account deletion using the Delete Account button in the application. Your account is disabled immediately, and your account information and associated vehicle records in the active system are deleted within 30 days, except where retention is legally required. Automatic database backups are created daily. We currently target a rolling database backup retention period of 30 days. This period is provisional and subject to verification of the backup script configuration. Backup copies may contain records deleted from the active system until those copies expire. Uploaded documents are not included in the database backups. We target a technical log retention period of 30 days for security, troubleshooting and service operation, subject to verification and configuration of server log rotation. Removing Google access alone does not delete your account.

8. Your rights

Where the GDPR applies, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, data portability where applicable, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact contact@thuraya.digital. We normally respond within one month, subject to lawful extensions. You may complain to the Slovak Data Protection Office (Úrad na ochranu osobných údajov Slovenskej republiky) or another competent EU supervisory authority.

9. Cookies

Garage uses only essential cookies necessary for authentication, security and maintaining user sessions. We do not use analytics, advertising or other non-essential tracking cookies. If this changes, we will update this policy and provide any legally required information and choices.

10. Security

Garage uses HTTPS to encrypt connections, enforces account-level access controls on the server so users can access only their own vehicle records and documents, and stores uploaded documents privately, without unauthenticated public access. Database backups are created daily; their access restrictions and protection settings remain subject to technical verification. No online service is completely risk-free.

11. Children

Garage is intended for adults aged 18 or older and is not directed at children.

12. Updates

We may update this policy as the application changes. The current version will be published at meet-ride-explore.com/privacy, with notice of material changes where required.
